Observing Women’s Health Month

May is National Women’s Health Month, a time to recognize the importance of preventive care and celebrate the strength, resilience, and well-being of women in our community.

At Valley Community Healthcare (VCH), we believe every woman deserves access to compassionate, high-quality healthcare at every age and stage of life. Preventive screenings and routine care can help detect health concerns early and support long-term wellness.

VCH encourages women to stay up to date on recommended preventive services, including:

  • Anxiety and depression screenings
  • STI screening and counseling
  • Breast cancer screening beginning at age 40
  • Cervical cancer screening between ages 21–65
  • Colon cancer screening beginning at age 45
  • Osteoporosis screening, typically starting at age 65
  • Pregnancy and postpartum screenings
  • Annual well-woman visits
  • Menopause and perimenopause care and support
