Experienced in change management, strategic growth development, and multi-specialty quality improvement
San Fernando Valley, CA—Amit Pabla, MHA, joins Valley Community Healthcare’s Executive Leadership Team as the Chief Operating Officer. He brings more than 10 years of non-profit health care management experience to this position and in collaboration with President/CEO Paula Wilson, and Chief Medical Officer, David Luna, MD, will continue to work on strategies to address the growing disparities and social needs of the Medi-Cal and underserved families living in the San Fernando Valley. Currently, Valley Community Healthcare serves over 30,000 patients who need primary care, vision, and dental and mental health services from the agency’s operational sites in North Hollywood, North Hills, and at LA Valley College.
“Amit Pabla is our “newest kid,” and has already shown himself as an energetic, transformative leader with a forward-thinking mindset, “commented CEO Wilson. “He brings first-hand knowledge and involvement in redesigning organizational systems to address current needs, success in raising patient access and satisfaction, and promotes the use of technology to improve the delivery of clinical services. I’m looking forward to having his energy and expertise on our leadership team.”
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Pabla successfully transitioned patient services from in-person visits to remote telehealth patient services, and oversaw the training of physicians and care teams to ensure patient-centered care continued. This first-hand knowledge coupled with his expertise in advancing strategies to improve information technology standards are invaluable at a time when VCH is adapting to the hybrid model of in-person and remote patient care delivery. “I believe health care is a social service,” he stated. “VCH is in a unique positon to build health equity among our underserved, marginalized communities through value-based and whole person care; we have the ability to change people’s lives at the grassroots level and this is what inspires me.” Pabla understands the challenges facing the health care industry and effectively manages systematic change in order to introduce new programming and staffing opportunities. He promotes team leadership and talent development, and utilizes organizational systems analysis and strategic direction to guide personnel toward a culture dedicated to continuous process improvement and optimal compliance.
